Since the beginning of operations, around 2,280 TEUs have been handled in the "inbound" and "outbound" flows between the Port of Rio de Janeiro - Container Terminal in the Port of Rio de Janeiro MultiRio and the PortoVale Intermodal Terminal in Itatiaia in the south of the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The new terminal is strategically located close to the region's automotive, pharmaceutical, electro-electronic and steel cluster, more specifically, being 500 meters from the Itatiaia Industrial Pole, 13 km from the Resende Industrial Pole and 18 km from the Automotive Industrial Pole.
With a railway deviation of 1,450 meters (850 operational meters) and with a total area of 60,000 m², the Terminal has a static operational capacity of 4,700 TEUs.
The terminal has security 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and with a modern monitoring system via closed circuit cameras (CCTV).
Benefits to the Environment
In addition to the advantages of regularity, safety and cost of transporting containers in the railway modal, we highlight the benefits to the environment.
The "carbon footprint" resulting from Multimodal Transport and containers by the railway, results in a reduction of about 78% less CO₂ in the atmosphere compared to road transport.
